Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Release Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases across our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and successful delivery of high‑quality software releases while minimizing disruptions to our business operations. This key role requires strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.

What will you do?
  • Release Planning: Develop and manage release plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Release Coordination: Coordinate with cross‑functional teams, including development, testing, and operations, to ensure smooth release execution and minimize risks.
  • Release Management Process: Develop, maintain, and improve release management processes and procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Release Deployment: Oversee the deployment of software releases to production environments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and high‑quality delivery.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with software releases, developing and implementing risk management plans as needed.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate release plans, progress, and issues to stakeholders, including business leaders, technical teams, and external partners.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that software releases meet quality and testing standards, working closely with testing teams to identify and address defects.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure release success, providing regular reporting to stakeholders and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve release management processes, leveraging industry best practices and emerging trends to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure that software releases comply with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
What You Need to Succeed?
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT release management, software development, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful release management, with experience managing multiple releases simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of release management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, ITIL).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with release management tools, such as JIRA, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑based technologies and DevOps practices.
  • Nice to have: Certification in release management (e.g., ITIL, Certified Release Manager), experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), scripting languages (Python, PowerShell), automation tools (Ansible), cybersecurity principles.
