The Field Technology Manager plays a critical role in supporting Burger King Franchised Restaurants by leading strategic and tactical technology support initiatives. This role is responsible for driving continuous process improvement, managing service restoration efforts, and ensuring compliance with technical procedures and restaurant technologies.

Location: This position is based in Toronto, ON and will require the ability to travel up to 30–40% across Canada and occasionally to the U.S.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Own the strategic roadmap for the Burger King Canada tech stack, collaborating with Burger King US counterparts to enhance, deploy and maintain new and existing technologies in restaurant ensuring alignment with business goals and operational excellence.
  • Provide leadership for cross-functional teams during technology deployment projects, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and timelines.
  • Manage incident response and resolution for Franchised Restaurants to restore normal service operations swiftly, leveraging internal teams to minimize business impact and delivering high levels of service
  • Conduct deep-dive technical analyses to identify root causes of issues and drive timely resolutions with vendors and internal teams.
  • Establish and lead continuous process improvement cycles for restaurant technology systems, including performance reviews, policy updates, and technology enhancements.
  • Manage the relationship and act as the primary point of contact for Burger King Canada technology partners, including tech related inquiries from Franchisees
  • Oversee compliance efforts related to BKC technical procedures, data models, and restaurant technologies, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
  • Define and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans for restaurant technology systems.
  • Ensure audit readiness and compliance with PCI and data security standards.
  • Ability to travel up to 30–40% across Canada and occasionally to the U.S.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in IT service management, technical support, or information security, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant technology systems, Point of Sale, Kiosks, Digital Menuboards, Standardized networks, and VSS/CCTV solutions.
  • Strong technical knowledge in network troubleshooting, design topology, TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing.
  • Experience with enterprise software suites such as Microsoft Office 365, Tableau, Grafana, Datadog, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability assessment, incident response, and security operations.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma, ITIL Fundamentals, A+, Security+, Network+, CCNA, HDI Service Desk Manager, or Microsoft MCP/MCSE are highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual (English/French) proficiency is an asset.
