Position Summary

Maintenance Technician is responsible for all building maintenance related duties within their assigned location(s) within a residential multi-family setting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • General handyman duties- minor plumbing, electrical repairs and maintenance.
  • Repairing doors, cabinets etc.
  • Installation of blinds
  • Installation of light fixtures
  • Drywall patching
  • General carpentry
  • Grouting of bath tile
  • Painting as required
  • Moving appliances
  • Repairing appliances
  • Minor plumbing repairs
  • Fix plugged drains, leaky taps
  • Install valves, taps
  • Renovations on bathrooms – replace valves, install tubs, new taps and shower head
  • Replace zone valves
  • Assist in larger plumbing repairs
  • Replace burst pipes, soldering
  • General boiler maintenance and HVAC knowledge
  • General repairs if necessary to boilers, pump, etc.
  • Thorough knowledge of boiler systems
  • Conduct weekly inspections of all boilers and complete log
  • Must perform regular on-call duties as assigned
  • Emergency on-calls as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by the regional manager
  • Inspection and maintenance of boilers, HVAC etc.
  • General carpentry, installation of blinds, fixing doors, locks, cabinets etc., drywall, tiling and painting
  • Be available for on- call on a rotating schedule to deal with problems that occur after hours and / or weekends
  • Manage tenants' maintenance requests including proper follow up to ensure satisfaction and completion
  • Complete maintenance checklist for unoccupied suites
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Possess at least 2 years of general handyman work experience
  • Experience in minor plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, drywall
  • Soldering, troubleshoot of appliances, repair works
  • Flexible to work regular work hours and on-call duties / weekends / after hour emergencies on rotation basis schedule
  • Must possess valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle to use at work.
  • Must successfully complete a security clearance
