Qualifications

Position

Full-Time, Permanent

Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Adheres to safe work practices.
  • Full accountability on fill rates.
  • Must understand production potentials and yield gaps.
  • Operate equipment and machinery used in the smokehouse production process
  • Monitor temperature and humidity levels in the smokehouse to ensure product quality.
  • Ensure that all products are smoked to the correct level and meet safety standards
  • Keep accurate records of all products processed in the smokehouse
  • Ensure that all safety regulations and protocols are followed at all times
  • Assist with packaging and labeling of finished products
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Must understand food safety guidelines.
  • Guarantees on-time delivery standards.
  • Maintains a high fill rate performance.
  • Operate all equipment as per expectations.
  • Meet with the direct supervisor (daily).
  • Reports any deviations and/or personnel issues to his/her direct supervisor.
  • Plan and execute production to fulfill all regulatory as well as SQF requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in smoking meats and operating smokehouse equipment will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of various types of wood chips and how they affect the flavor of meat
  • Ability to maintain and clean smokehouse equipment
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices for handling and storing meat
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy cuts of meat
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality in smoked meats
  • Willingness to work early morning and/or late night shifts
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
