As per the Education Act and Regulations, unless otherwise specified.

Appointment of Occasional Teachers in Long Term Assignments

This assignment shall be filled in accordance with Part A, Article 17.3 of the current OECTA Secondary Collective Agreement, wherein priority placement will be given to unplaced, qualified redundant teacher applicants from the Secondary Teacher bargaining in order of seniority. In the event the assignment remains unfilled, qualified applications from the Occasional Roster will be considered.

Education

Notwithstanding the above, we encourage applications from all Ontario Certified Teacher applicants as well as education students holding, or who have applied for a:

  • Transitional Certificate of Qualification and Registration fromthe Ontario College of Teachers; or
  • Multi-Session Transitional Certificate of Qualification and Registration from theOntario College of Teachers.

Please note that the posted end date is subject to change and the assignment may terminate as follows:

  • on a date determined to meet a Board staffing requirement; or,
  • the last teaching day before the return date of the absent teacher; or,
  • by no later than the last teaching day of the current school year.

This assignment may end sooner than the posted end date.
