Overview

Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Dawson Creek and District Hospital. Under the direction of the Unit/Program Manager or designate and in collaboration as a member of a multidisciplinary team, performs assessments, plans and provides personal care, and performs nursing procedures. The LPN functions in accordance with the competency guidelines and scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and according to agency operating policies and standards and unit specific protocols. This position rotates through the Cast Room, Minor Treatment, Cystoscopy and Recovery.

New Wage

New Wage: As of April 1, 2024 the new wage is: $32.84 - $41.35/hour

About Dawson Creek & District Hospital

Dawson Creek & District Hospital is a Full Service Community Hospital that Provides Service To Dawson Creek And Surrounding Communities. It has 31 Acute Care Beds and 15 Regional Adult Psychiatric Beds. Dawson Creek is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical Centre for the Northeast Region of BC. Services include Emergency, ICU, Day Surgery, Respiratory Therapy, Primary Care, Acute Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory.

Visiting Specialists

Visiting Specialists Include Urology, Dermatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology. Construction is underway on the new Dawson Creek & District Hospital, anticipated to open in Spring 2027. This state-of-the-art facility will be over 50% bigger than the current hospital and will feature 70 beds, modern patient care spaces, and expanded and enhanced services to meet the growing needs of the community.
