Overview

Extendicare Michener Hill, a continuing care facility located in Red Deer Alberta. This facility is home to 220 Continuing Care beds and 60 Designated Assisted Living Beds.

Reporting to

Reporting to: Director of Care

Responsibilities
  • Ensure resident care is provided within established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders and administrative policies
  • Use the Nursing Process of Assessment, Plan, Implement and Evaluate a resident health and develop individualized resident care plans
  • Plans, directs, supervises and evaluates the work of the Health Care Aide
  • Assists in orientating, mentoring and competency development of staff
  • Demonstrates leadership skills
Qualifications
  • Graduate of Licensed Practical Nurse Program
  • Registered in good standing with CLPNA
  • Caring, compassionate, dependable, ethical and mature
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Good time management skills to work in fast paced environment.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Current CPR and First Aide
  • Experience with MDS-RAI assessments
