What is the opportunity?

As a Learning Developer, you support the Learning Studio by developing engaging and accessible learning solutions for learners across RBC. Working both in a team and independently, you build and foster relationships with Learning and Performance colleagues, business partners from various LOB’s and external vendor partners to create engaging solutions to support learners across the RBC organization. As a creative and innovative resource, you leverage your technical skills to support and action projects quickly, providing your expertise to enable performance through learning.

We are recruiting for more than one opportunity across different portfolios. While this is a single posting, candidates may be considered for multiple roles depending on their background and experience.

What will you do?
  • Works closely with Learning colleagues and Business Partners to estimate work effort and timelines for proposed solutions and provide recommendations to enhance the experience.
  • Leverages best-in-class methodologies and innovative technologies to provide effective learning through a variety of modalities (instructor-led, virtual, digital).
  • Develops learning assets (web-based learning, job aids, participant guides, infographics, etc.) to create an optimal learner experience.
  • Produces graphic design elements independently based on requirements provided by Learning or Business Partners to deliver on desired outcomes.
  • Ensures learning assets align to RBC core values (diversity & inclusion), accessibility standards, templates, branding and user experience (u/x)
  • Leads QA and testing routines in partnership with Learning Design colleagues and Vendor Partners to ensure digital assets function according to the defined business requirements and design vision.
  • Organizes time and work to accomplish project deliverables effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensures the team communicates the status of all projects as agreed with key stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are on-time and within budget; escalates as required.
What do you need to succeed?
  • 3-5 years working within a learning team
  • Proficiency with creative tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline 360, Rise, Camtasia, Audacity, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator)
  • Able to work under pressure and manage stakeholders and project expectations
  • Intermediate-Expert skill in eLearning authoring tools
  • Basic-Intermediate HTML coding skill
  • Proven skills and capabilities in design and development at the curriculum, course and module level in all channels of learning design (mobile, social, gamification, video, classroom, virtual classroom, e-learning, and blended).
  • Strong project management skills and experience; critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong relationship and collaboration skills to work with project teams comprised of internal and external learning colleagues, subject matter experts and business leaders.
  • Aptitude for navigating the business environment, advances in learning and emerging trends in technology.
