About the Role :

We’re seeking an experienced and safety-conscious HD Fitter Leading Hand to join our team at Karara. In this hands‑on leadership role, you will supervise a small team of HD Fitters, taking responsibility for preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and ensuring our mobile and fixed plant equipment remains in peak working condition.

You’ll work closely with the operations, safety, and site administration teams to ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and aligned with Bis’ Zero Harm safety culture.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and supervise a team of HD Fitters on‑site
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on mobile plant and equipment
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults and breakdowns
• Maintain accurate records and support preventative maintenance programs
• Uphold strict safety, housekeeping, and compliance standards
• Assist with incident reporting and investigations as required
• Communicate effectively with site teams, operators, and client representatives

What You’ll Need :

• Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Diesel Fitting (or equivalent)
• S26 Statutory Supervisor certification (mandatory)
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
• White Card, Confined Space, and Working at Heights tickets
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership role on a mine site (mandatory)
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to Zero Harm
