What is the opportunity?

Are you interested in working as Lead Developer on the Personal & Commercial Credit Technology (PCCT) team in Technology & Operations (T&O) at the Royal Bank of Canada? RBC’s PCCT team is responsible for providing solutions supporting Financing Products, Credit Cards, and other credit related products to personal & commercial clients. As a Lead Developer, you will work as part of an agile delivery team to delivery critical solutions to our retail credit related products at RBC. We are looking for top notch technical leaders who are great team players, constantly think outside the box and passionate about the quality of the products. You will have the opportunity to grow and expand your capabilities and expertise within the PCCT development community via learning and sharing.

What will you do?
  • Provide technical leadership and hands‑on contribution to software solutions if required
  • Manage a team of developers responsible for delivering a top‑tier product.
  • Collaborate other technical leads, product leads and business leads to deliver exceptional solutions
  • Provide leadership and expert counsel in establishing and implementing standards, guidelines and best engineering practices.
  • Support the transformation program leads to set vision and establish strategic roadmap from technical perspective
  • Building exciting, customer‑focused, engaging applications by focusing on software engineering / design / architecture excellence.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • 5+ years technical leadership experience in delivering high resilient software solutions in both modern backend and frontend technologies, including JAVA, Sprint Boot, Angular etc.
  • Strong technical experience in developing and deploying on distributed cloud applications (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, Docker, Azure)
  • Strong technical delivery and team building experience including highly developed communication skills (verbal and written) from both technical and business perspectives
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self‑driven and capable of working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Excellent team player who has great collaboration skills with other tech leads, product leads and business leads etc. to move things forward
Nice-to-have
  • Familiarity with Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) and Decision Model Notation (DMN) is a plus, including Camunda, Pega, etc.
  • Experience and context knowledge in Home Equity Finance (HEF) industry, including mortgage origination, adjudication and fulfillment
  • Experience with GitHub Co‑pilot or other Gen‑AI tools
