Lead Pastor
We are looking for a man in love with Jesus, who is called by God to pastoral ministry, and secondly to Arnold Community Church. The ideal applicant will embrace our Vision, be a person of prayer, desiring the gospel to be clear and fruitful. Their conviction as a leader in discernment is to listen and wait on the Lord until He speaks, and then be obedient no matter the cost, believing that discernment involves the body.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Is Spirit-filled and led, a team player, loves people
- Enjoys life and being a part of the larger community and church family
- Has an ability to connect with all ages
- Has a willingness to grow and learn
- Has a vision to help build a community that reaches its neighbours
- If married, has a supportive spouse who sees the church as a part of their extended family
What we want that Pastor to do:
- Take the lead in preaching and teaching, developing other preachers
- Serve as member of the elder team:
- Championing and teaching the Vision Statement
- Directing our ministries to follow our vision, values and mission
- Evangelism
- Keeping our core ministry values in sight (God’s Word, intimacy with God, people, compassionate service, discipleship, risk taking obedience)
- Reporting to the elder team
- Encouragement of regular prayer meetings
- Lead the staff and program leaders as a team in accomplishing the vision:
- Meeting regularly for prayer and planning
- Training and equipping, calendar and program planning, budgeting, identifying and raising up new leaders, perform regular evaluations with staff
- Work with the deacons, in the pastoral ministry of the body
- Work with the mission team, keeping missions front and center
- Work with the finance team in managing fiscal responsibilities, reporting and budgeting
Responsible to:
- The congregation through the elder team
Qualifications:
- Preferably a degree from an accredited theological seminary
- 5-10 years of experience in pastoral ministry or related ministry
- Agreement with the BC Mennonite Brethren Conference’s Confession of Faith, and a willingness to be credentialed with the BCMB Conference
