The LAV Maintenance Trainer opening is a current vacant position at General Dynamics Land Systems – Canada. The base salary hiring range for this position is $70,400 to $92,400 per year. Once in the role, successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress through the full salary range based on performance. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include additional components of our total compensation package, such as our incentive award program and other rewards like health benefits, employee profit-sharing, retirement savings, and more. The conditions in which an individual or staff works, including but not limited to such things as amenities, physical environment, stress and noise levels, degree of safety or danger, temperature, location.
Typical postures may include standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, crouching, bending, lying down and reaching at working heights ranging from below floor level to overhead. Tasks required on the interior of the vehicle will require working in a vertical space of 105 to 135 cm and may involve sitting, crawling, crouching, stooping, bending, twisting, kneeling and/or lying down to access some areas, as some tasks require working in areas with space constraints. The worker may also be required to lay on a creeper to complete work under the vehicle. Vertical clearance under the vehicle is approximately 65 cm.
Trainers are required to climb on/off vehicles, which may include climbing through roof hatches, rear openings, and/or the driver’s hatch. It is common for Trainers to complete tasks in the same area of the vehicle while maintaining static or similar postures for a period of time.
Medical Surveillance may include: Inoculations, Respiratory Fit, Audiometric Testing, Designated Substance Surveillance, Vision, Anthropometrical Size Restrictions depending on task.
Personal Protective Equipment: Applicable when interacting with shop floor (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, extraction coveralls).
