Landscape Technician – ABC TREE MEN

Locations: Burnaby, BC & New Westminster, BC

Salary: $37.00 / hr (40 hrs / week). Permanent Full‑time employment.

Overview

ABC TREE MEN is hiring a Landscape Technician. The employer promotes equal employment opportunities and offers mentorship for newcomers, refugees, and Indigenous workers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage landscaping projects
  • Write specifications and survey and assess designated sites
  • Apply treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas, and injecting with solutions
  • Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease
  • Plant and move trees
  • Tree removal
Qualifications

Education: College, CEGEP or other non‑university certificate or diploma from a program of 1‑2 years.

Experience: 2 to < 3 years in landscaping, residential projects, park and recreation sites.

Equipment & Machinery: Small engine equipment, pick‑up truck, chippers, chain saw, trimmer.

Area of Specialization: Landscape design, plant knowledge & identification, horticulture, tree service.

Security & Safety: Driving record check (abstract), criminal record check.

Transportation: Own vehicle.

Work Conditions: Ability to work independently; attention to detail; repetitive tasks; handling heavy loads; physically demanding; manual dexterity; combinations of sitting, standing, walking; standing for extended periods; bending, crouching, kneeling.

Tools/Equipment: Steel‑toed safety boots, gloves, ear plugs, mask, rain gear.
