Role

This is an entry-level position within the Mechanical Production group. The entry-level technologist is responsible for suggesting production-related methods and supporting the Manufacturing group during the assembly phase. This position requires supervision from higher positions.

Duties
  • Suggest assembly methods for mechanical components of simple complexity.
  • Prepare work orders according to approved processes for assemblies/parts for which he/she is responsible.
  • Transfer work orders and monitor production.
  • Ensure traceability is captured in the work order during the production phase.
  • Respect the production schedule by identifying deviations and proposing contingency plans.
  • Assist assemblers by carrying out detailed reviews during production (production milestones, final verification).
  • Integrate non-conformance rework procedures (NCR, DIN, SNAG, DR, TNR, ECN) into work orders and follow up according to established procedures.
  • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with internal procedures and in compliance with our occupational health and safety rules.
  • Assist senior technologists in their tasks by supporting ongoing project activities.
  • Help maintain the efficiency of production laboratories and suggest improvements.
  • Perform other related duties.
Minimum qualifications
  • DEC in mechanical technology or equivalent.
  • 2 to 3 years relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of production techniques and mechanical assembly processes.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical assembly tools, manufacturing processes and machining tools.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software and a database (ERP system).
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and French (Contact with customers outside Quebec).

Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
