Position Summary

We are seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join our Electrical team. This role plays a critical part in providing technical expertise, ensuring quality installations, and supporting the growth and mentorship of apprentices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial and industrial electrical work, an understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical assistance and recommendations for operations, electrical design improvements, and system installations across HVAC manufacturing projects.


• Perform installation, replacement, repair, and testing of electrical circuits, controls, panel boxes, and wiring systems, ensuring alignment with HVAC system requirements.


• Interpret and apply the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) to ensure all electrical work complies with current safety and regulatory standards.


• Execute precision cutting, threading, bending, and assembly of conduit systems for various electrical applications.


• Conduct quality installations per electrical and HVAC system design specifications, upholding best practices and internal standards.


• Troubleshoot electrical issues, isolate faults, and carry out timely and accurate repairs to minimize downtime in production or field operations.


• Efficiently manage manpower, tools, and materials to optimize workflow and support project timelines.


• Complete all required quality control documentation, installation reports, and compliance records in a timely and accurate manner.


• Respond to emergency service calls and site issues as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a solutions-focused mindset.


• Perform additional duties and special projects assigned by supervisors to support continuous improvement initiatives.


• Mentor and support electrical apprentices, fostering a collaborative, team-first work environment to enhance skill development and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification required


• Minimum 5 years of electrical experience in Alberta (HVAC experience preferred)


• Strong understanding of electrical prints, diagrams, and schematics


• Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver quality work under pressure


• Flexibility to work overtime when required


• Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills


• Valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract (Passport required; application fee covered)


• Ability to operate necessary tools and equipment for service projects


• Willingness to mentor and collaborate with others in a team setting

Hours of Work

• Monday - Thursday - 6 am - 3:30 pm


• Friday 6 am - 2:30 pm


• Overtime after 9 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week


• Flexibility to work Overtime
