Responsibilities

• Perform fire ground operations, rescue, fire inspection, and public education following department policies.
• Conduct rescue operations, including search, stabilization, and victim safety.
• Protect people and property from hazards, including hazardous materials.
• Operate fire apparatus safely and efficiently.
• Provide first aid and prepare patients for transport.
• Inspect equipment and participate in fire safety inspections.
• Perform station duties and public relations activities.
• Operate communication equipment and assist in developing pre-fire plans.
• Maintain records and comply with health and safety legislation.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Reside within the response area.
• Ability to work in a structured environment, respond to emergencies, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License with zero demerit points; ability to obtain Class “DZ” license.
• Successfully complete training and psychological assessments.

This position requires a valid Class “G” driver’s license and proof thereof.
