WONDERING WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

Your role will require you to bring a high standard of scientific excellence to your daily work. These responsibilities will be in your domain.

  • Plan and execute environmental studies, including fish, aquatic, wildlife, and habitat assessments.
  • Conduct fieldwork in various settings, including remote locations, and operate specialized monitoring equipment.
  • Analyze environmental data and prepare technical reports and regulatory documentation.
  • Support project management and maintain direct communication with clients throughout project lifecycle.
  • Provide expertise in fish and fish habitat science.
  • Provide strategic support and advise clients to help them achieve their project goals in balance with protecting the environment.
THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
  • Advanced degree in biology, aquatic science, or related field.
  • R.P.Bio. or eligible.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, within the environmental sector.
  • Strong fish and fish habitat background, related to infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with YESAA and Fisheries Act project submissions and review processes.
  • Proven experience completing Fisheries Act Authorization applications and designing habitat offsetting plans.
  • Experience in vegetation surveys and assessments (in particular wetlands) would be a strong asset.
  • Excellent track record for strong client relations.
  • Effective analytical, technical editing, and review skills, with the ability to manage data, projects and ensure the delivery of high-quality reports and proposals.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, excellence, and ethics.
  • Proficient in using field equipment (e.g., flow meters, water quality instruments, fisheries tools), with experience in aquatic monitoring; CABIN certification, bird ID skills /nest sweep skills are considered assets.
  • Willing and able to work safely in remote locations for extended field trips.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license; with clean driving record.
