Location - Remote (Canada)

Though we have an office based in Calgary, this is a remote position that is open to candidates across Canada. PurposeMed's office is located on the unceded and traditional territories of the peoples of the Treaty 7 region which includes the nations of the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Îethka Stoney Nakoda which consists of the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Good Stoney Bands, and people of the Tsuut'ina First Nation. The city of Calgary is also homeland to the historic Northwest Métis and to the Otipemisiwak Métis government, Métis Nation Battle River Territory, Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elbow Métis District 6.

Who we hope to find

PurposeMed is looking for an Intermediate Product Designer to contribute meaningfully to our product development practice by applying empathy and insight-driven design across the organization.

In this role, you'll make an impact by:
Supporting Impactful, Cross-Functional Projects
  • Collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and service delivery partners (Clinical, Support, Pharmacy and Strategy & Operations) to translate business and user needs into thoughtful product experiences
  • Aligning design work with real operational constraints and patient needs to drive meaningful outcomes across the organization
Crafting Insight-Driven Design Solutions
  • Applying design principles, user insights, and data to create clear, usable, and accessible design solutions
  • Solving real user and business problems through intentional, evidence-based design decisions
Partnering Closely Within the Product Triad
  • Working closely with Product Managers and Engineers throughout the full product lifecycle, from problem definition through delivery
  • Ensuring solutions are user-centred, technically feasible, and aligned with business goals
Contributing to Discovery, Validation and Craft
  • Participating in discovery efforts by helping define, design, and conduct usability tests, experiments, and patient interviews
  • Partnering with UX Research, Data and Product to validate assumptions and inform design direction
  • Asking thoughtful questions, testing ideas, iterating on designs, and contributing to design critiques to continuously grow craft and curiosity
We need someone who has
  • 2-4 years of professional end-to-end Product Design experience in a fast-paced environment
  • A solid foundation in user-centered product design, including information architecture, usability, interface design, heuristics, and basic systems thinking
  • Experience contributing as a product designer on cross‑functional teams with Product Management and Engineering
  • Comfort working in scrappy, growing companies where priorities may evolve
  • Proficiency with design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Whimsical, Maze, or similar
  • An openness to feedback, learning, and growing within a design practice
It would also be great if you have
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments, including healthcare, financial services, or similar industries
Compensation
  • $75,000 - $90,000 CAD a year
