Job description

FCX Performance, an Applied Industrial Technologies Company, is a leading process flow control company providing technical mission-critical products and services to over 15,000 end users, OEMs, and EPC firms across various industries and markets.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  1. Perform field maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and control systems in a timely, accurate, and safe manner:
    • Calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, and other instrumentation
    • Commission instrumentation and shoot loops
    • Install and calibrate measuring and positioning devices
    • Perform minor electrical maintenance
  2. Complete all applicable documentation for actions taken, including reporting job activity and maintaining detailed logs of service calls, parts, and orders.
  3. Represent the company during field service tasks with a positive attitude.
  4. Identify and report safety issues to the appropriate customer representative.
  5. Identify opportunities for upgrades at customer facilities.
  6. Research task criteria prior to arriving on the work site.
  7. Use company vehicle to travel to and from job sites while practicing defensive driving habits that uphold the company's reputation.

Essential Physical Functions & Equipment Used:

  • Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs in an industrial environment.
  • Must work at heights using fall protection.
  • Must be available for occasional call-ins and overnight travel to various locations and customer sites for service and training.
  • Duties involve indoor and outdoor work with exposure to weather, elements, heavy equipment, power tools, clean rooms, insects, dirt, and noise.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Technical Degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing process/control equipment, including instrumentation, valves, actuators, and pumps.
  • Strong computer proficiency, especially with electronic and microcomputer instruments measuring and controlling variables like pressure, flow, and temperature.
  • Mechanical proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Electrical/electrician experience.
  • Experience with tubing, tray, and instrument stand installation.
  • Industrial safety training.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
  • Drive programming and troubleshooting capabilities.

Work Environment:

Varied settings including indoor and outdoor environments such as customer facilities, weather-exposed areas, clean rooms, factories, and construction sites.
