Position Summary

We are looking for a talented and ambitious Installation & Service Technician who can grow into an Operations Leader role at Besseling North America. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing complete Controlled Atmosphere (CA) storage rooms at client sites at Canadian farms. Your work will include installing insulated metal panels, assembling and installing airtight sliding doors, and installing CA equipment.

The role combines in-field installation, project coordination, and technical diagnostics, along with the opportunity to contribute to design reviews, CAD drawings, and material planning.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, working hands‑on, leading on‑site execution, and collaborating with customers and subcontractors. For the right individual, this role provides a long‑term professional growth path toward operational leadership within the company.

Based in Oliver, BC, the company operates with a small, highly specialized team and a strong reputation for technical execution, customer service, and long‑term client relationships. Besseling continues to expand its national footprint and is seeking a high‑potential, hands‑on technical professional who can grow into senior operational responsibilities over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, assemble and commission CA equipment, insulated panel systems, sliding doors and mechanical piping.
  • Perform annual maintenance and service on controlled atmosphere equipment for customers across Canada.
  • Support the development of CAD drawings and material take‑offs for upcoming projects.
  • Collaborate with the project lead on installation strategy, planning and sequencing.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide on‑site diagnostic support.
  • Work with subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to ensure project delivery and safety standards.
  • Participate in project reviews and equipment design improvements.
  • Represent Besseling on customer sites with strong communication, professionalism and ownership.
  • Travel to customer locations across Canada (travel up to 3 weeks at a time).
Qualifications

✅ Required

  • Experience in installation, construction, industrial mechanical or related trades.
  • Strong technical or mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience working with tools, equipment and on‑site installation.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and technical schematics.
  • Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
  • Organized, reliable, mature and able to self‑manage.
  • Ability to work at heights, lift equipment and perform physical tasks.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for up to 3 weeks at a time, including cross‑border.
  • Eligible to work in Canada. Valid passport or ability to obtain one.

Preferred (an asset but not required)

  • Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD software.
  • Experience in cold storage, HVAC, controls and automation or mechanical installation.
  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors or project teams.
  • Leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Technical certifications or trade background (mechanical, HVAC, construction).
