Overview

The Inspection Technician will host inspections for LGCY Solar Installation Services. As an integral member of LGCY’s Field Operations team, the Inspection Technician keeps jobs moving efficiently towards permission to operate while meeting monthly objectives. The Inspection Technician will be responsible for all field and administrative tasks associated with passing inspections. Success in this role looks like driving the Inspection Departments working queues to zero as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Assess job readiness for final inspection, and schedule inspections with local building inspector
  • Conduct permit runs to appropriate AHJ as needed for branch operations
  • Call AHJ to confirm inspection time frame in the morning
  • Provide excellent customer service to homeowners by informing them of inspection arrival times and letting them know what will be done while on the property
  • Review pictures and site conditions and gather all necessary parts to complete inspection on site
  • Verifying labeling and placards are up to code for inspection, and rivet placards
  • Meet inspector, assist with setup, tying off ladders and opening solar equipment or main panel
  • Maintain the safety of themselves and others by adhering to all written and verbal instructions, promptly reporting and/or correcting all hazards or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to management on all safety issues
  • Take notes for corrections and notify management of any issues or updates
  • Keep inspection vehicle stocked with the necessary materials
  • Service solar panel systems when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record according to company policy
  • Excellent customer-service skills including written and verbal communication
  • Coachable, self-motivated, and accountable
  • Must be punctual with appointments and deadlines
Preferred Skills
  • 1+ years of experience from relatable field preferred
  • Familiarity with electrical plans and field layouts
  • Knowledge of local AHJ/Utility requirements
  • Experience with working with City or Utility inspectors
  • Ability to withstand heights, climb ladders and be on roofs
  • Ability to bend, squat, stretch and lift
  • Ability to work in all weather and climates
  • Monday-Friday
  • Workdays and start times are subject to change dependent on weather and additional requirements
  • The pay scale for this non-exempt position is slated to be $22-28 depending on experience, licensing, and education (Pay scale is defined by the Labor Commissioner as the salary or hourly wage range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position)
