A leading satellite operator is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to design and manage IT infrastructure for its groundbreaking Lightspeed satellite network in Ottawa. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data center operations, network design, and cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include leading architecture and overseeing hardware design. Candidates must be willing to work onsite in Ottawa several days weekly and hold a relevant university degree with at least 7 years' experience.

The Infrastructure Architect will lead the architecture and design of IT infrastructure essential for the development of Telesat Lightspeed, encompassing both datacentres and Cloud environments. This role involves managing strategy, deliverables, documentation, and final design in collaboration with the existing team, Network Architect, and Cloud Architect to ensure a robust and scalable infrastructure.
The Infrastructure Architect will own the overall IT infrastructure design for Telesat Lightspeed.
The Infrastructure Architect will be required to ensure that current and evolving IT resource requirements are captured, tracked and analyzed as well as costed. They will be required to engage with stakeholders on a regular basis and be able to present and defend design decisions at a both technical and financial level.
Candidates must live in the Ottawa area or be willing to relocate to Ottawa.
Candidates must be willing to be onsite in the office at least 4-5 days per week.
