Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in electricity within the mining & metals, petrochemical, or aluminum industries.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Strong knowledge of the industrial environment.

Job description
Overview

Please note that this job posting is intended to build a candidate pool for future needs. The position is available in our offices in Quebec City, Montreal, as well as in our regional offices in Rouyn-Noranda, Amos, Val-d'Or, or La Sarre, depending on the successful candidate's preference.

Your Role
  • Prepare electrical plans and detailed single-line diagrams.
  • Perform short-circuit, coordination, protection, and arc-flash studies using EasyPower, ETAP, or other software.
  • Calculate and prepare protection relay settings.
  • Prepare specifications for purchasing:
    • Low and medium voltage switchgear.
    • Motor control centers.
    • Power transformers.
    • DC systems and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.
  • Analyze bids related to electrical equipment.
  • Coordinate projects directly with the client.
  • Supervise and actively participate in electrical design.
  • Supervise a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Detailed design of low and medium voltage electrical distribution.
  • Low and medium voltage system cabling.
  • Cable tray design.
  • Electrical motor connections.
  • Grounding system design.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in electricity within the mining & metals, petrochemical, or aluminum industries.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Strong knowledge of the industrial environment.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in ETAP or EasyPower, or other software for electrical studies (asset).
  • Knowledge and proficiency in arc-flash standards (asset).
  • Ability to lead electrical projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in French (spoken and written).
