Job description

Our client is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner who will be focused on employment relations.

As the ideal candidate you will know employee relations inside and out. On top of possessing a deep understanding of HR practices and employee relations, you will be adept at fostering a positive and productive workplace environment.

As HRBP you will be the key point of contact with staff and managers through all aspects of employment relations. From developing innovative policies to navigating complex situations, your insights and expertise will be crucial in maintaining a fair, compliant, and thriving workplace. Beyond policies and compliance, you will be a strategic thinker who can balance the needs of the organization with those of its employees.

Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations: Oversee and manage all aspects of employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, grievance handling, and performance management. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees in navigating complex employee relations issues.
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Ensure that policies are consistently applied and communicated effectively to all employees.
  • Consultation: Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on all employee relations matters, providing expert guidance and support to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all staff.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs related to employee relations, conflict resolution, and effective management practices. Provide coaching and development opportunities to help managers and employees enhance their skills.
  • Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints, allegations of misconduct, and other workplace issues. Ensure that investigations are conducted in a fair, impartial, and confidential manner and that appropriate actions are taken based on the findings.
  • Compliance: Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant labor laws and regulations. Stay up-to-date on changes in legislation and best practices in employee relations and make recommendations for policy and procedure updates as needed.
  • Mediation: Facilitate mediation sessions between employees and managers to resolve conflicts and disputes. Promote a culture of open communication and collaboration within the organization.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze employee relations data and trends to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to senior management. Prepare reports and presentations on employee relations metrics and outcomes.
  • Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction. Act as a champion for initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture and support employee well-being.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other HR team members and departments to ensure a cohesive approach to human resources management. Collaborate on cross-functional projects and initiatives to support organizational goals.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on employee relations. Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution, policy development, and compliance is essential.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with employees at all levels. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of labor laws and regulations, as well as best practices in employee relations. Familiarity with mediation and investigation techniques.
  • Certifications: Professional HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP are highly desirable.
