Overview

The HR Strategic Advisor acts as an agent of influence for our facility in Bedford for employee and management teams. The incumbent of this position advises, and coordinates activities related to employee relations, health and safety, staffing, mobilization, skills development, succession planning and other human resource management activities. In addition, the role is responsible for coaching the site management team and participating in management and employee committees.

Responsibilities
  • Part of the Plant Management committee.
  • Contributes to and rolls out the HC strategic action plan for the site.
  • Acts as a change agent with the site managers under their responsibility by recommending the appropriate actions aimed at the proactive management of Human Capital.
  • Interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement including managing grievance resolution process
  • Advises managers with respect to practices, policies and company procedures for the proactive management of human resources while ensuring judicious application.
  • Interprets legal texts and regulations by identifying their impacts and communicates and monitors them.
  • Collaborates in continuous improvement processes around human resources management.
  • Participates and coordinates organizational development and activities.
  • Acts as a change agent in the implementation of a positive health and safety culture.
  • Ensure that workplace injuries are handled appropriately, filing claims, and managing the return-to-work program.
  • In collaboration with the Disability Management team, ensure applicable information is gathered, assist with follow-up and manage the return-to-work program.
  • Conducts and participate in organizational development, performance management and succession development activities.
  • Acts as an agent of change influencing the ways of doing business and in relation to human resources.
What you need to join our team
  • Bachelor of Business Administration, major in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations.
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Generalist in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Sound command of spoken and written English.
  • French language knowledge (an asset).
  • Certified HR professional (an asset).
  • Ability to travel as required.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range : 78,600$ to 98,200$ (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)
