HR Recruitment and Onboarding Coordinator

Kenn Borek Air (KBA) is a diversified worldwide aircraft charter and leasing operation. The KBA Corporate Office is currently seeking an HR Recruitment and Onboarding Coordinator. This full time position is based in Calgary, AB.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this position will drive the talent attraction activities within the organization. Managing the recruitment process life cycle through proactive sourcing, selection, and recruitment services. This position will work closely with the Recruitment Team, Operational Hiring Managers and other various business stakeholders.

Major Responsibilities of the Role
  • recruitment administration including, recruitment software super user, consulting with management to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills, screening resumes, maintaining job descriptions, internal and external postings, pre-screening candidates, booking interviews, and conducting reference checks;
  • responsible for reviewing all open job postings daily to review new applications;
  • will conduct compensation market reviews (both internally and externally) for roles as needed;
  • assist with organizational structure development and job design, ensuring job descriptions are aligned to the position, pay and the organization structure;
  • plan, coordinate, and represent the organization at recruitment events including preparation of materials and structured post-event candidate follow-up;
  • support organizational accessibility obligations by documenting, tracking, and reporting accessibility-related data in compliance with applicable federal legislation and internal policies;
  • administer and manage the new hire onboarding process, facilitating new employee orientation program, three and six month programs, reviewing new hire paperwork and conduct exit interviews;
  • administer the performance review process, keeping records up to date and make recommendation where appropriate;
  • support the HR team in the administration of the offboarding process and make recommendations where appropriate;
  • prepare, submit and maintain accurate reports, metrics and supporting documentation for government-approved grant programs within prescribed timelines.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of employment laws and policies under federal legislation (Canada Labour Code) considered an asset;
  • Human Resources experience, specifically 1 – 2 years in recruitment;
  • Experience with advertising, sourcing, screening, phone interviewing and assessing candidates;
  • Have a good aptitude for using and understanding computer applications;
  • Utilize job boards and social media to efficiently build networks and develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of hiring needs;
  • Experience preparing effective communications material or reports to support internal or external customers;
  • Emphasis on confidentiality and have strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner;
  • Strategic and action-oriented with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and tasks with competing demands and deadlines;
  • Ability to work and problem-solve independently while contributing to a larger team;
  • Active listening skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships, influencing others and delivering results;
  • Conflict management and mediation skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written;
