Position: Housekeeping Aide, Casual

Home: Heartwood Long Term Care

Location: Cornwall, ON

Southbridge Care Homes is excited to invite a dedicated Housekeeping Aide to join our vibrant team at Heartwood Long Term Care. In this vital role, you will help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by expertly cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining both private residences and our facility.

We’re looking for someone with experience who takes pride in their work, enjoys both independent tasks and collaborative teamwork, and brings energy, professionalism, and a friendly attitude to every day. Responsibilities
  • Clean – Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks throughout the assigned property. Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchen, and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, glasses, pots and pans. Wipe and dust surfaces in rooms and clean mirrors. Vacuum and clean floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes. Remove and replace linens, bedspreads, and blankets.
  • Stock – Wash and stock all towels, washcloths, and hand towels in bathrooms. Fold laundry and put away as needed.
  • Customer Service - Ensuring resident privacy, respecting resident's property and advocating on behalf of the resident
  • Other – Pick up and empty trash containers. Load washer and dryer as needed. If applicable, notify maintenance if something is not working correctly.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficient in English communication skills, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as required.
  • Capacity to stand for extended periods and perform physical activities such as reaching, bending, lifting, and pulling.
