Qualifications

  • 3–5 years experience in the hospitality industry.
  • At least 2 years of management experience in food service, housekeeping, laundry, and/or maintenance.
  • Valid Basic Food Safety Certification (required).
  • Valid Right to Serve/Smart Serve Certification (required).
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and related software applications.

About the Opportunity
  • Provide leadership and oversight to ensure departmental compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate the work of the team.
  • Oversee the full recruitment process for new team members.
  • Ensure new team members are oriented and trained on all departmental standards.
  • Work with Human Resources to manage team member issues.
  • Complete performance and development discussions for team members.
  • Ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed per company policy.
  • Hold regular departmental meetings and team talks.
  • Taken every reasonable precaution to ensure the health and safety of all team members and others in the workplace.
  • Assist with establishing, monitoring, and evaluating work routines for dining room, housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance staff.
  • Maintain inventory and cost controls for these departments.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports (indicators, audits, expenses, etc.) as required.
  • Present food service‑related education sessions to facility staff as required.
  • Initiate requests for equipment repair or replacement as necessary.
About You
  • 3–5 years experience in the hospitality industry.
  • At least 2 years of management experience in food service, housekeeping, laundry, and/or maintenance.
  • Valid Basic Food Safety Certification (required).
  • Valid Right to Serve/Smart Serve Certification (required).
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Knowledge of sanitation, health, and safety practices relating to food service delivery.
  • Knowledge of infection control and prevention best practices.
  • Knowledge of basic building maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
  • Ability to analyze budgetary expenditures and ensure compliance with approved budgets.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Effective communication skills in both French and English, both verbally and in writing.
  • A passion for the healthcare sector and for ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care.
