Heavy Equipment Technician

We are currently hiring a Heavy Equipment Technician to support our fleet maintenance operations. The ideal candidate is safety conscious, detail orientated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete or assist in the completion of CVIPS, inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on trucks, trailers, loaders, dozers and a variety road construction equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic and mechanical issues.
  • Complete preventative, planned and unplanned maintenance, including overhauls and testing of mechanical and electronic components according to company standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Operate from a service truck for field repairs as required, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Participate as a vital team member and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve other areas of technical and field support as required.
  • Perform duties in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner.
Qualifications
  • Alberta HET certification or minimum 3rd year apprentice or out of province HET certification with Interprovincial Red Seal.
  • Required to provide and maintain a personal set of professional tools.
  • Basic Welding knowledge and skills (welding certificate is an asset).
  • Licensed CVIP certification.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who easily adapts between independent and team work environments.
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities as required.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks in a variety of work conditions.
  • Comfortable using computers and digital tools.
  • Minimum Class 5 license with clean abstract (valid Class 1 License is an asset).
