Position

Heavy Equipment Operator

As a heavy equipment operator, you’ll work with a variety of heavy machinery, primarily excavators, and also bulldozers, loaders, skid-steers, and rollers. You will help ensure machines are in good working order. Daily tasks vary, so we need someone who is competent, eager to learn new skills, able to work independently, and capable of taking initiative when unexpected challenges arise.

The Details

This is a full-time position, with a starting hourly rate of $32-$40/hour, based on ability and experience. We offer benefits and group RRSP options after a waiting period, paid emergency days, paid overtime, and more.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of current experience operating heavy equipment, primarily excavators and bulldozers. Must be productive and independent from day 1.
• Experience working as a heavy equipment operator in civil, landscape, earthworks, environmental, or infrastructure construction.
• Embed the values that our organization is built on and be motivated to contribute to our mission.
• Previous health and safety training is an asset; a strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace is a must.
• Verbal communication skills and experience working in a team.
• Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle.
• Able to provide a driver’s abstract/driving record prior to the interview.
