To design communication strategies and tools to affect positive community health and lifestyle outcomes, using a diverse range of multi-platform health communications and marketing approaches.
- Provides guidance and advice to program managers regarding effective communication strategies
- Conducts risk assessments for all communication initiatives and recommends risk mitigation tactics
- Controls all aspects of the campaign/portfolio
- Monitors project process and ensures critical timelines are met
- Ensures all communication, marketing and promotional initiatives meet accessibility and equity standards
- Liaises closely with program managers and staff to design innovative marketing strategies
- Ensures the client is continually made aware of the status of the project, especially milestones and issues
- Ensures that complex public health data and information is appropriately translated into plain language for target audiences and that it conveys the appropriate messaging
- Ensures all necessary components of the campaign/portfolio are delivered on schedule and on budget
- Develops innovative content for online and traditional media
- Ensures the effective and strategic delivery of communication products
- Liaises with external marketing agency of record, where applicable
- Maintains knowledge of current industry best practices and new techniques used in health marketing and communications
- Maintains the integrity of and works to improve the Toronto Public Health brand
- Conducts thorough evaluations of campaigns to determine effectiveness, provide insights and support evidence-based decision making
Key Qualifications:
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
- A Baccalaureate degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Considerable experience in marketing and/or strategic communications.
- Considerable experience preparing effective communication strategies that support the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Considerable experience with traditional and social media best practices.
- Considerable experience developing a variety of communication materials that engage diverse audiences
- Considerable experience managing large communication projects or social marketing campaigns.
