Overview

Health Care Aide — Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) is seeking health care aides to join our Home Services department. Health care aides provide in-home support to seniors and individuals who need assistance completing activities of daily living.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to clients in client homes according to the service plan.
  • Monitor and accurately record and report on the status of clients.
  • Complete appropriate charting in the Alayacare mobile app.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Recommend changes to service plans as client needs change.
  • Attend in-services, workshops, and training sessions as required.
  • Use appropriate safety measures including universal precautions and infection control procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have completed a health care aide certificate program that meets the provincial standard.
  • Must be currently registered with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
  • Must be able to provide care in accordance with legislation, care plans, and training.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, with current registration and insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
  • All new health care aides must provide a police information check and vulnerable sector check prior to providing client care.

  • Hours: Regular hourly and casual work available; must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends.
