SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group, an international consulting and engineering group, a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.

Context

The ALTO project is a major infrastructure initiative in Canadian history, aimed at developing over 1,000 km of new passenger rail service between major urban centers, including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City.

Missions/Main Duties
  • Collaborate with Project Design teams to identify the required graphic materials and organize their production.
  • Design and adapt a variety of graphic assets (such as posters, brochures, presentation templates, web visuals, infographics, etc.) in collaboration with multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Produce flat-vector icons and more detailed illustrations as needed.
  • Enhance and refine design documents to improve their visual appeal and clarity, while meeting project deadlines.
  • Work with the Cartography team as needed to support map-related visual tasks and ensure alignment between graphic and cartographic outputs.
  • Apply consistent use of the project's visual identity across all materials and contribute to the development and enrichment of the project's graphic guidelines.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of visuals and graphic guidelines to address the evolving needs of the project.
Profile/Skills

Education: Degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.

Years of experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Broad graphic design skills, enabling work on a variety of materials (posters, brochures, presentations, web visuals, infographics, etc.), along with strong illustration and vector drawing abilities.
  • Ability to create icons, flat-design elements, and more intricate pictograms involving perspective.
  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail to ensure a consistent visual identity across all materials.
  • Ability to monitor activities, report progress, and manage workloads effectively.
  • Proficiency with creative software tools.
  • Knowledge of maps, railways, or transit networks is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.*
