Job Overview

Seasonal Driver Guide Lead – Jasper, AB. Full‑time seasonal role for Spring/Summer 2026. Pay $28.50 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • In‑field supervision and coaching of all department staff.
  • Proper operation of Coaches/Ice Explorers, including pre/post‑trip inspections and accurate completion of all documentation.
  • Professional conduct toward guests and coworkers while in the field at Turnaround Point, Transfer Bays, and Icefield Center Loading Gates.
  • Own the Zone: ensure all areas of the Driver Guide operations meet cleanliness, appearance, customer service, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Handle payroll submission for the department under manager supervision.
  • Assist the manager in day‑to‑day cooperative efforts with all other departments involved with the Columbia Icefield Adventure, acting as department lead in the manager’s absence.
  • Receive feedback from driver guides and staff from other departments, report incident/accident reports to Sr Manager Operations and Attractions and/or Director of Attractions, and conduct minor staff performance adjustments as required.
  • Perform routine administrative duties, including inventory management, short/long‑term staff scheduling, incident reporting, and attend daily leadership meetings in the manager’s absence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Class 2 with Q (Air Brakes Endorsement).
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • General understanding of all Columbia Icefield operational policies and procedures.
  • Positive, fast‑paced problem‑solving attitude.
  • Fantastic sense of humour, friendly, mature, energetic personality for staff to look up to.
  • Set a performance standard of excellence while operating in the field.
  • Deliver difficult news to staff if necessary.
  • Comfortable providing constructive feedback and offering solutions.
  • Proven team player able to build and support an effectively operating team and work cohesively with other departments.
  • Effective communication skills and conflict management.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in challenging mountain weather conditions.
  • Work on your feet for extended periods of time in an outdoor environment; prepared for all weather conditions (Snow, Rain, Wind, Hail).
Pay & Benefits

Starting wage $28.50/hour. Seasonal role – flexible schedule, outdoor work, and opportunities to develop leadership and field operation skills.
