Responsibilities
  • Conduct geological, geophysical, geochemical, hydrographic or oceanographic surveys, prospecting field trips, exploratory drilling, well logging or underground mine survey programs.
  • Conduct or direct surveys or survey programs.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as maintaining filing and record systems.
  • Prepare rock, mineral or metal samples; assist in preparing samples.
  • Prepare notes, sketches, geological maps and cross sections.
Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years in mineral resources and/or mining.
  • Technical experience: Mapping and surveying; geological sampling analysis; geochemical sampling analysis; geotechnical studies.
  • Computer & technology knowledge: Geographic Information System (GIS); GPS; MS Office.
  • Field work location experience: On land.
  • Work site environment: Outdoors.
  • Work setting: Various locations, remote location possible; willingness to relocate (relocation costs not covered).
  • Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel.
  • Physical capabilities: Fast‑paced environment, repetitive tasks, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand‑eye coordination, ability to distinguish colours, sitting/standing/walking, handling heavy loads, physically demanding.
  • Personal suitability: Leadership, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, judgement, reliability, team player.
  • Own tools/equipment: Steel‑toed safety boots.
