Rebar Fabricators, bend, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars in accordance with customer orders.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values.
• This is an entry level position. Incumbent may operate any one of the following machines:
  • Operate a bender to fabricate reinforcing steel to required dimensions
  • Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
  • Operate an overhead crane to move, assemble, and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
• Unload trailers and store materials in storage bins.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.

Minimum Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Must have basic math skills to be able to calculate bar measurements
• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)

Physical Demands

• Some heavy lifting may be necessary.
• Working conditions can be noisy/dusty/hot/cold/
• Outdoor shop, exposed to all elements.

Special Demands

• Overtime hours may be required to meet operational demands.
• Must be able to work any shift.
• Must become familiar with and adhere to shop safety policies and procedures.
• Must have a form of reliable transportation. Location is not accessible via public transportation and not within walking distance.
