Job Description

Reporting to the Project Manager, the General Laborer will perform various tasks related to the repair and general upkeep of plant grounds and buildings.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain grounds using a 100 HP tractor (training provided), zero‑turn ride‑on mower, push mower, and gas trimmer.
  • Conduct painting work.
  • Handle, move, and store furniture, equipment, supplies, materials, and tools.
  • Prepare and install necessary protections and signage during work.
  • Participate in periodic and ad‑hoc inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds.
  • Assist with various inventories.
  • Perform cleaning duties.
  • Execute all other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Asset: Experience operating a tractor and forklift.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Must hold a class 5 driver’s license.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and customer‑service skills.
  • Excellent time‑management and priority‑setting abilities, with the capacity to resolve technical issues quickly.
  • Autonomous, versatile, and organized.
  • Detail‑oriented and self‑starter.
  • Results‑oriented and health‑and‑safety conscious.
  • Good physical and manual ability to perform basic maintenance tasks.
  • Capable of lifting objects up to 50 pounds (occasionally 60 pounds).
Work Environment

This is a temporary, full‑time position until September 2026. The incumbent must be available during periods of high production and be able to work under pressure, occasionally. Exposure to operations hazards may include caustic and acidic chemicals, heavy machinery, extreme temperatures, slippery surfaces, water hazards, and electrical equipment.

Physical demands: Standing 55 %, Walking 15 %, Sitting 30 %. Repetitive use of hands, reaching, speaking, and hearing are required. Lifting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching occur occasionally. Ladders or stairs are used. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (occasionally 60 pounds).
