What you’ll do

• Be part of a truly cross-functional team; Backend Engineers, Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers and QA.
• Participate in product planning—from discovery all the way to deployment; we want your input at all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Collaborate to develop robust new features, APIs, continuously improve our industry‑leading products and find and fix any bugs at DeelSpeed.
• Ensure our customers receive a white‑glove experience with our products.
• Fully own the development of features on the client, server, service, and database.

Required skills

• Develop high‑quality, responsive web applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Express. Experience with NestJS, Vite, and Next.js is a plus.
• Design and implement server‑side APIs, data models, and business logic using mainly the Express framework.
• Create client‑side function‑based React components, hooks, stories, and tests to interact with your server‑side work.
• Optimize database schemas, queries, and interactions with Postgres.
• Build reusable and modular components on both the front and back end that promote code reusability, maintainability, and scalability.
• Perform thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of applications to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Stay updated with emerging web development trends, frameworks, and best practices, and recommend improvements to enhance development processes.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to maintain code quality standards.
• Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to team members and stakeholders.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, methodologies, and tools.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of Full‑Stack experience, with a focus on TypeScript development.
• Expert in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications using the above tech stack.
• Excels in a collaborative, remote‑first work culture where teamwork and camaraderie are key.
• Embraces independence and takes ownership of projects while contributing to team success.
• Communicates complex ideas clearly and collaborates with diverse technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Passionate about solving customer problems with coding skills, and performs natural troubleshooting.
• Adopts a business‑focused approach to software development, focusing on high‑value outcomes for clients.
• Obsessed over details and always keeps the customer experience top of mind.

Extra brownie points

• Experience with SaaS products running 24/7 on a major cloud vendor.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Chai, Storybook, React Testing Library) and automated testing methodologies (Cypress).
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
