Position Overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely handling and transporting electronic waste materials, including palletized, baled, and bulk items. This role requires maintaining a clean and organized work environment, following safety regulations, and assisting with general warehouse tasks as needed. Operators will also handle baler materials, gaylords, and bags as part of their daily duties.

Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently transfer palletized, baled, and bulk electronic waste (e.g., TVs, monitors, computers) using forklifts, electric, and manual pallet jacks.
  • Load/unload materials into trucks, bins, and intercompany trailers.
  • Support other areas as needed within the warehouse and production facility.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on forklift equipment (e.g., greasing, checking oil levels).
  • Maintain high standards of security, health, and safety to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Organize materials in designated warehouse and plant locations.
  • Ensure materials, including baler materials, gaylords, and bags, are properly labeled with inventory tags.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials (e.g., toner cartridges, batteries) following safety protocols.
  • Always adhere to PPE and workplace safety regulations.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment and be open to working assigned shifts.
  • Train on Bobcat, Genie Boom, Dry Sweeper, and Wet Sweeper to enhance their skills and support plant operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Valid forklift certification with experience in safe operation.
  • Experience handling electric pallet jacks (certification preferred).
  • Physically fit, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg), and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in warehouse/plant environments and adhering to PPE requirements.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety, WHMIS, and handling hazardous materials is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adjust to changing priorities.
