Overview

We are looking for a Food & Beverage Manager to join our team!

Job Description

As a Food & Beverage Manager, you will lead your team in exceeding guest expectations and creating lasting positive impressions on each guest. Your role is very important because you are your team's leader, teacher, and role model. Additionally, you will achieve excellence by leading and teaching your people to make business decisions that are focused on upholding the highest standards in guest service while delivering against key financial goals and performance metrics for the department. You will deliver this leadership throughout the orientation, training, performance management, and communication processes.

Responsibilities
  • Is visible in operations throughout the day, supporting quality first impressions at the Botanicus Kitchen + Bar, IRD, Lobby Lounge and Banquet Areas.
  • Mentors and ensures that their team is creating “picture-perfect” dining experiences that uphold the highest standards of hospitality and service.
  • Mentors team to anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and warmly welcome all guests.
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships and communication with all departments and team members, supporting the hotel and each team within it to reach their goals.
  • Provides the Food & Beverage team with the resources, direction, coaching, and feedback required for their continuous development including conducting performance feedback conversations
  • Providing supplemental training for front of house service employees on all brand related processes and service standards with a focus on delivery quality consistent guest service.
  • Manages and monitors the activities of the Food & Beverage service teams making sure adherence to all operational procedures, Brand Standards (BSA), occupational health and safety standards, Liquor and VLT laws and hotel processes and policies
  • Operates within budgeted parameters; able to bring commentary on the performance of their area(s) on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Efficiently make the necessary changes to meet budgeted demands and keep in line with the needs/goals of the business.
  • Actively plan and execute Food & Beverage promotions and contribute to long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Executes assigned deliverables in a manner that requires little or no follow-up, both in terms of timeliness, scope, and quality.
Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Bachelor\'s Degree in relevant field is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years in Hospitality Food & Beverage is required.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role in Food & Beverage is required
  • Food Safety and Pro Serve Certification are required.
  • A wine education certificate is considered an asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of all areas of Food & Beverage service.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Tech-savvy.

Working Conditions

This position may work long days and/or weekends to meet periodic upturns in business demands or meet deadlines. This position is set in a fast-paced environment that requires continuous physical movement and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. This position will require periods of independent work and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
