Position Description:

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown office at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time. We are seeking an experienced Operational Finance Lead to oversee consulting services and analytics for the Toronto Financial services Sector. This role requires a strategic leader with strong financial acumen, operational expertise, and the ability to adapt to evolving macro-economic conditions. The successful candidate will manage business performance, ensure compliance, and drive operational efficiency while delivering actionable insights to executive management.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Provide consulting services and analytics to executive management.
    • Monitor, advise, and implement operational and financial changes based on macro-economic trends.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Generate monthly financial forecasts and presentations comparing actual performance to budget.
    • Recommend strategies to address variances and adapt to changing business environments.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team responsible for:
      • Monthly business performance reporting
      • Billing, accounts receivable, and work-in-progress tracking
      • Contract management and project creation/maintenance
    • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
    • Oversee workload allocation, quality control, and timely delivery of all deliverables.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Act as the primary resource for ad hoc requests and problem resolution.
    • Identify inefficiencies and develop innovative solutions to streamline operations and optimize financial outcomes.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 8+ years in financial management, consulting, or banking sector leadership roles.
    • Proven track record in managing teams and delivering strategic insights to senior leadership.
    • Strong knowledge in financial and management accounting, concepts, and practices.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, reporting tools, and ERP systems.
    • Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an asset.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under dynamic conditions.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred).
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000-$120,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
