Executive Chef

In this pivotal role you will not only prepare meals; you will craft an experience. From setting innovative menus and overseeing kitchen operations to pioneering food‑related events and tailoring meals to individual dietary needs, your culinary expertise will set the standard for excellence at Aspira. Success means creating a sense of home through every dish, making Aspira the preferred choice for residents seeking a vibrant, fulfilling lifestyle.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Executive Chef will lead the culinary team to elevate food offerings and ensure a consistently high standard of food safety and cleanliness. This is a Permanent Full‑Time position. Schedule: Sunday to Thursday 11 am‑7 pm. Salary: $55,451 – $58,000 per year.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead the culinary team by selecting, planning, organizing, and supervising kitchen operations to maximize productivity and skill utilization.
  • Ensure every dish is fresh, tasty, visually plated, and served with warm, attentive service.
  • Solicit and value resident feedback to continuously enhance the dining experience.
  • Evaluate performance and production quality, and proactively implement adjustments to elevate service standards.
  • Spend at least 50 % of your time in hands‑on participation in food preparation and operations, providing guidance and assistance to the team.
  • Assess team performance regularly to ensure culinary objectives are met and quality standards maintained.
  • Prepare and maintain essential records—including invoices, reports, and statistics—in line with Aspira policies and regulatory requirements.
Who You Are
  • Possess a degree or diploma in culinary arts, complemented by a certification in food safety.
  • Bring 3‑5 years of rich experience in retirement living, hospitality, or a related sector, with significant time in leadership roles such as Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
  • Demonstrate proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a culinary team, fostering an environment of learning and growth.
  • Have excellent communication skills, facilitating clear interactions with both team members and residents.
