Job Title: Estimator / Project Coordinator – Trenchless & Shoring

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trenchless and shoring operations, with a proven track record in estimating and coordinating complex construction projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimation: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for underground construction projects, including horizontal directional drilling, shoring, and related operations.
- Project Coordination: Oversee project planning, scheduling, and execution, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client specifications.
- Client Liaison: Collaborate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals.
- Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and provide regular updates to management on financial performance.
- Technical Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to assess feasibility and identify potential challenges.
- Procurement: Source materials, equipment, and subcontractors, negotiating contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating and project coordination within the construction industry, with specific expertise in trenchless and shoring operations.
- Education: Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Hard Dollar, Bid2Win, or similar), MS Office, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of underground construction techniques, shoring systems, and geotechnical principles.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certifications: Valid driver’s license. Additional certifications (e.g., PMP, Gold Seal) are an asset.
- Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Greater Toronto Area.
