Position Summary

This course develops student proficiency in critical reading and writing through the study of a wide range of non‑literary and literary texts, and the study of composition, with emphasis on connections between modes of reading and writing.

Position Requirements
  • For courses in the Literature Stream, applicants must hold an M.A. or higher degree in English, or an M.F.A. or higher degree in Creative Writing.
  • Sessional Lecturer II: master’s degree, or four‑year Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and have taught 12 three‑credit hour courses (or equivalent).
  • Sessional Lecturer III: Ph.D. (or equivalent), or Master’s degree and have taught 15 three‑credit hour courses (or equivalent).
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness, such as student evaluations, syllabi, letters of evaluation, may be provided.
