Overview

Amazon is hiring Building Technicians to support our data centers. The Building Operations Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. Building Technicians serve as technical resources to support Amazon within its data centers. Equipment supports mission-critical servers and must maintain uptime. Building Technicians drive innovation while reducing operational costs in facilities and are the front-line responders for electrical and mechanical issues affecting Amazon's availability. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, standby diesel generators and related fuel systems, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, CRAHs, CRACs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.

This position requires that the candidate obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in data center engineering
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, and building systems in data center or similar environments
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and work on job sites with uneven terrain, at heights, or on ladders
  • Ability to bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working
  • Ability to use hands to manipulate small wires and objects
