Job description

Responsible for disassembling returned customer engines and performing detailed failure analysis to determine root causes of issues. Duties include documenting component wear, identifying defects or damage, preparing detailed reports, and working closely with engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement. Requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and familiarity with internal combustion engines. Successful candidate for this role will be a member of the Salary Bargaining Unit-Local 240.

Minimum Requirements :

  • College diploma in Automotive or related field. Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.
  • Licensed Automotive Service Technician (Certificate 310S or 310T).
  • Must be available to work in shifts (mornings / afternoons / evenings).

Preferred Requirements :

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanic Technician is preferred.
  • Skilled in using measuring equipment and advanced diagnostic tools for the operation, dismantling, and reassembly of engines, transmissions, and other powertrains.
  • Competent in the use of computers and associated software.
  • Fluent in both written and oral English communication.
