Salary Range: $28 - $38 per year (commensurate with experience and education)

Responsibilities
  • We are currently seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Engine Shop Technician to join our Aircraft Maintenance team. In this role, you’ll work closely with fellow technicians under the guidance of the Engine Shop Supervisor and ultimately report to the Director of Maintenance. Your work will focus on the inspection, disassembly, cleaning, repair, and reassembly of aircraft engines and related mechanical components.
  • Diagnose, inspect, and repair aircraft engines and related mechanical systems in a shop environment.
  • Perform disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and testing piston engine components.
  • Utilize technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot engine issues accurately.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to maintain and repair components.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and overhaul tasks following safety and regulatory standards.
  • Assist licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) with engine-related tasks and documentation.
  • Maintain clear records of maintenance activities in compliance with aviation standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized shop environment.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in aviation or certification in Mechanical, Automotive, or Small Engine Repair would be considered as asset
  • Preference would be given to having a relevant hands-on experience with engines in an automotive, mechanical, and aviation setting.
  • Experience in aviation engine repair or component overhaul would be an asset.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with precision tools and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness to work in a regulated, high-compliance environment.
  • Previous work in a Transport Canada-approved AMO or engine shop would be an asset.
