Electrical Reliability Engineer
Granton, Nova Scotia

Come join the growing team at one of Nova Scotia’s largest manufacturing operations! Located in northern Nova Scotia, close to warm-water beaches and communities with a rich, Scottish heritage, Michelin Pictou County manufactures rubber mixes and process components for other North American plants, as well as passenger car and light truck winter tires for the North American market.

The Opportunity

The role of Michelin’s Electrical Reliability Engineer is to improve reliability of process equipment, ensure implementation of maintenance strategy and practices, and provide technical support to the plant in the areas of maintenance and production. These efforts are undertaken to support production teams in the shared goals of safety, quality, cost and delivery.

What you will do:
  • lead reliability and process improvement projects through electrical design, installation, and optimization;
  • perform equipment criticality studies and FMEA to prevent failures and improve reliability;
  • investigate and develop solutions to automation optimization projects;
  • review and update electrical maintenance procedures and standards;
  • plan, implement, and commission projects, including cost estimation and resource coordination;
  • create and maintain technical documents, including design packages, procedures, and reports;
  • provide technical support to production and maintenance teams to ensure operational continuity; and,
  • drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis while maintaining strong relationships with operations and maintenance leaders.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, or related field;
  • 1–3 years in industrial/manufacturing environments with exposure to machine design, automation, installation, and troubleshooting;
  • proficiency in AutoCad, PLC programming, RSLogix 5000, RS View, ControlLogix, and 2DCad design experience;
  • experience using predictive tools and reliability principles;
  • knowledge in custom industrial machine design, automation, installation, start-up, qualification, and servo/control systems;
  • strong background in root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and drive technology;
  • understanding of CSA standards and related electrical regulations;
  • both written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop positive relationships with internal plant customers; and,
  • proven solid teamwork, leadership, planning, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
