Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer for immediate employment at the London/Kitchener, Ontario office. This position is to fill an existing role within the team.

Job Summary

You will support projects across Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors, including renewable energy (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. You will work under moderate supervision and contribute to a variety of engineering design and analysis tasks while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical analyses, calculations, and routine tests in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Assist in preparing technical specifications, design drawings, memos, and reports.
  • Identify discrepancies in results and propose solutions using sound engineering judgment.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to fulfill project scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate the electrical conditions and provide recommendations.
  • Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EIT’s and technicians.
  • <>Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high‑quality design solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering + four (4) years of relevant professional experience
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in sectors such as Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability (PV and EV systems).
  • Experience in design tools: AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar.
  • Solid Knowledge of power systems: MV/LV distribution, lighting, controls, renewable energy systems.
  • Proficiency with engineering calculations and preparing technical documentation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
  • Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a must.
  • Ability to fit into a fast‑paced team environment and/or work independently.
  • Self‑motivated, detail oriented and multi‑tasking.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $65,000.00 - $85,000.00.
