Overview

Job Title: Electrical Engineer (New Graduate)

Location: Calgary, AB (frequent site visits required as needed)

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 hours/day – In office fulltime

Start Date: ASAP

What you’ll do
  • Support operations, design, analysis, and documentation of technical and business management scopes for existing and future facilities
  • Assist with contractor interface in preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports and administrative contract management
  • Work with engineers from other disciplines and vendors to gain knowledge on new subjects and business interfaces
  • Participate in site visits, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational administration activities under the guidance of experienced engineers
  • Perform project management activities under the supervision of senior professionals
  • Support operational reporting and data management
  • Maintain organized and accurate project documentation
  • Establish understanding of and assist with contractor relationship management
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and equipment vendors to support project execution
Who you are

Ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Other relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) may be considered
  • Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with APEGA
  • Basic understanding of electrical power systems, controls, or instrumentation
  • Co-op, internship, or summer work experience is considered an asset
  • Understanding of First Nations culture
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Skills in planning and organizing
  • Flexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritize
